A paper shipping label tells people where a shipment is going, but it says little about what happens along the way. Once goods leave the warehouse, their location and handling conditions can become difficult to verify. Temperature excursions may go unnoticed, impacts and excessive tilting may only be discovered after delivery, and disputes over damaged or opened shipments can be difficult to resolve.
MinewTag's YL-TS04201 and YL-TS03501 smart electronic shipping labels are designed to close this information gap. Each device combines an e-paper display with cellular connectivity, location tracking and environmental sensing. The result is a label that also functions as part of the shipment monitoring system, rather than just carrying static shipping information.

The two models share the same underlying purpose but are built for different operating priorities. The YL-TS04201 focuses on long-term asset tracking, while the YL-TS03501 adds security features for shipments that require closer control.
YL-TS04201: long-term tracking for reusable assets
The YL-TS04201 is designed for shipments and logistics assets that may remain in circulation for extended periods. It has a 4.2-inch black-and-white e-paper display that shows shipping details, asset information, status data, barcodes or QR codes while using very little power.

For outdoor location tracking, the device uses GNSS and can achieve positioning accuracy within 10 metres under open-sky conditions. When satellite signals are unavailable, it switches to LBS positioning based on the cellular network. This lets businesses keep a useful level of location visibility as an asset moves between outdoor routes, warehouses and other operating environments.
The device also monitors temperature, humidity, vibration and tilt, with alert thresholds configured to match the goods or assets being transported. If a reading exceeds its permitted range or the shipment experiences abnormal movement, the device sounds audible and visual alerts and sends the event to the management platform over its 4G Cat.1 connection.
A 10,000 mAh non-rechargeable battery powers the device. Under the specified operating pattern of three location updates, three data reports and 24 temperature and humidity readings per day, battery life can reach approximately three years; actual service life depends on reporting frequency, network conditions, positioning activity and the operating environment.
With an IPX5 water-resistance rating, the YL-TS04201 suits applications such as reusable transport packaging, logistics roll cages and outdoor assets that need long-term location and condition monitoring.
YL-TS03501: added security for sensitive shipments
Some logistics applications care more about shipment security than multi-year battery life. The YL-TS03501 is built for this in a smaller format, with a 3.5-inch black-and-white e-paper display.

Along with location, temperature and humidity monitoring, it includes a light-based tamper sensor: if the label is removed or the shipment is opened in a way that triggers the sensor, the event is recorded and reported to the management platform.
It can also connect to an electronic lock. Authorized users control the lock remotely through the management platform, which adds a layer of protection during transport and handover. That makes the device suitable for shipments where access needs to be controlled or documented, including pharmaceutical distribution, medical sample transport, cold-chain logistics and the movement of valuable goods.

A rechargeable battery supports about four months of operation under defined working conditions, and the device charges through a USB Type-C port. As with the YL-TS04201, actual battery life varies with positioning frequency, reporting intervals, network quality and sensor activity.
Information that travels with the shipment
Both models use e-paper displays that stay readable without continuous power. Screen content updates to match the current stage of the journey: sender and recipient details, item identification, temperature and humidity readings, handling status, barcodes or QR codes.
That gives logistics teams more flexibility than a fixed paper label. The same display can handle identification at dispatch, status checks in transit and confirmation at receipt, without a new printed label at every stage.
The devices store data locally as well as transmitting it remotely. Through the management platform, users can review location history, check recorded sensor data, and set measurement intervals, reporting schedules and alarm thresholds. Replaceable SIM cards let the connectivity setup adapt to available 4G Cat.1 networks.
Better visibility across the logistics cycle
Smart tracking labels don't prevent every delay, impact or temperature excursion. What they do is make these events easier to detect, locate and review.
Recorded temperature and humidity data can help cold-chain teams pinpoint when and where storage conditions slipped outside the required range. Location data improves asset visibility for reusable containers and roll cages across repeated transport cycles. Vibration and tilt monitoring can provide evidence of improper handling for industrial equipment or fragile goods. And for sensitive shipments, tamper alerts and electronic lock control support a more accountable handover process.
Replacing paper labels is only one part of this. The bigger benefit comes from connecting the shipment, its condition and its movement history to the same management workflow.
