A pharmacy in the Czech Republic recently selected MinewTag's electronic shelf labels as the solution for upgrading its shelving. The store deployed thousands of ESLs, supported by a single gateway and centralized management platform. The system replaces repetitive paper label changes with a faster, centrally managed process.
Pharmacies manage a broad product range, with prices and promotional information changing regularly. With paper labels, employees must print new tags, find each product, replace the old label, and check that the displayed price is correct. This takes time and creates room for missed or outdated information.
MinewTag's ESL system brings these tasks into one platform. When a price or product detail changes, the pharmacy can update the information centrally and send it through the gateway to the corresponding labels. Individual products can be updated when needed, while batch updates make larger price changes and promotions easier to handle.
Each electronic shelf label is linked to its assigned product, helping the pharmacy keep shelf information aligned with its digital records. Depending on the selected display template, the labels can show prices, product names, barcodes, promotional details, and other useful information in a clear, consistent format.
The entire installation operates with only one gateway, keeping the in-store infrastructure compact while supporting communication with all labels. Staff no longer need to walk through the pharmacy replacing paper tags every time information changes. This allows them to spend more time on stock checks, product availability, and customer assistance.
For the pharmacy, the deployment creates a more direct connection between its management system and the physical shelf. Prices can be updated from one place, shelf information is easier to maintain, and routine label work becomes less dependent on manual handling.
The project shows how electronic shelf labels can support pharmacy digitalization without making store operations more complicated.
